Committee Reports                                    

2005 Conference Committee - John Burton and Jeri Marxman

Working on scheduling our first conference call with the committee. Location - are we set on Reno or do you want us to look around? Date - still looking at spring 2005? Decided February 2005, like Orlando. Numbers - This will be the first official meeting of NACDEP. Decided 200 to 300 range. Use this to begin looking at hotels. Sally Maggard is going to request some funding from CSREES to help with the conference.

Database Committee - Julie Stewart
See the written report distributed 2/12. There was some discussion around fields to include in the database. Possible additions include what other national organizations (affiliated to JCEP) they belong to, and type of extension appointment.

Marketing and Outreach Committee - Rod Howe
Marketing and outreach committee will be meeting for the first time on February 24. Committee members are: Johanna Reed Adams (Missouri), Michele Gagne (New Hampshire), Chance L. McDavid (Mississippi), D. Brian Calhoun (Virginia), Beth Tucker (Arizona), and Rod Howe (New York).

There has been some feedback about the NACDEP Web site having a Southern Rural Development Center address rather than its own URL. Following discussion it was decided that we would keep the Web site at the Southern Center during the transition period. Rod will look into perhaps using another site as a front page that would then redirect you to the SRDC for future use.

Membership Committee - John Amrhein and Jeri Marxman
The membership committee met a couple of weeks ago and has another conference call next Thursday. They are working their way through the list of issues that John distributed to the transition team on 12/19/03.

Nominating Committee - Greg Taylor
Call was cut short due to bad telephone connection.

Hold for next conference call.

New Business
Walt will send out e-mail on language in the by-laws.
