Many leadership programs help individuals learn about their communities and the local community leaders. However, leadership programs should increase citizen involvement and assist participants in becoming the future leaders of the community. Thus, I will show how my leadership program has become a leadership program that requires participants to utilize the leadership skills they are learning and has enhanced citizen involvement in our county. Modifications that were made to this program that resulted in increased leadership growth and insights will be shared.

Most participants in this program are adults who work in our community, mainly middle management professional people. The program helps participants develop leadership skills as well as meeting and dialoguing with community leaders. This poster session will detail what changes have been made in the leadership program. Examples of leadership projects will be displayed and a list of possible projects for leadership groups will be provided in the handouts. Participants will learn to examine their leadership programs for relevance in topics and projects that enhance leadership skills and increase citizen involvement. Participants will receive recommendations on topics, program sessions, and requirements.
