The purpose of this poster presentation will be to introduce a new program curriculum, Voices Reaching Visions, developed by the Cooperative Extension Program at North Carolina A&T State University. Voices Reaching Visions is a five-part training series, emphasizing organizational and community planning and development. The program recognizes that effective organizations can build strong communities. Though leaders involved in organizations may already have the passion and dedication to make a difference, they also need knowledge and skills, as well, to reach their visions for communities. The objectives for this poster are three-fold: (1) discuss the philosophy for why this program was created; (2) provide an overview of the major parts in the curriculum; and (3) share some success stories from several demonstration sites during the program's pilot.
