Many non-profit organizations struggle with making sure the "strategic plan" becomes a reality. Using Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as the primary process, from design to implementation, helps organizations move from "problem solving" to seeing the possibilities, assets and personal commitments necessary for implementation. This poster session will demonstrate how to formulate a shared framework for change and venture towards defining the strategies leading to organizational change.

Poster Objectives: Participants will learn -

  • A basic understanding of the history, theory and framework associated with Appreciative Inquiry (AI)
  • AI a Paradigm Shift
  • How to use AI in your community development work
  • What makes an organization work using a generative process of inquiry and dialogue
  • Create an ascending spiral of learning, energy and action that leads to organizational change
  • Connecting the best of an organization and aspirations of what members, directors and staff want their organization to be
  • How to make sure the "plan" does not collect dust: Putting the "commitment into action"
