This workshop will focus on the success stories of facilitating cross-culturally with the Mexican, Somali, Hmong and American Indian communities in three different settings. All three examples tell the story of what to consider for logistics, who needs to be at the table, interpretative concerns, and serving as a cultural bridge builder. Based on the Developmental Model for Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS), Appreciative Inquiry techniques and the use of effective facilitation skills, Regional Extension Educators in Minnesota have demonstrated best practices to community members to build shared understanding.
