E-Commerce for Direct Farm Marketers

Those who direct market their products grow their businesses through personal connections with consumers. E-commerce is one marketing channel which can allow marketers to both find new customers and serve their existing customers better. I will present on the curriculum we created at the University of Minnesota Extension Service to help direct farm marketers employ e-commerce in their businesses. I will also present our findings from the pilot of the program in winter of 2005 where we will survey both the needs and current employment of e-commerce among attendees.
