| The global, knowledge-based economy generates
winds of change that impact all facets of our communities. In this
time of rapid change, it takes breakthrough solutions - 21st century
concepts and tools - for communities to succeed. Based on the outrageous
premise that ordinary people can do extraordinary things, Breakthrough
Solutions is a next generation community development program that
offers a fresh approach to strategic leadership, innovation, and action,
drawing on research from multiple disciplines and successful community
experiences. With 18 VisionWorks partners, Breakthrough Solutions
equips communities, organizations, and regions to prosper in the knowledge-based,
global economy by: creating wealth and job opportunities, improving
a community's quality of life, taking full advantage of the Internet
and affordable broadband, and developing successful regions. Participants
will learn about breakthrough solutions and tools, and experience
active learning experiences in a simulation called River City. |
