The Washington County Business Conference and Marketplace

Success Story

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension, in collaboration with other organizations, business owners and municipal government, organized the Washington County Business Conference and Marketplace in 2002. The conference highlights the importance of small businesses to the local economy and provides opportunities for aspiring and existing business owners to develop or improve their entrepreneurial skills. In addition, the conference features networking opportunities, a Business Assistance Center and marketplace. The Washington County Business Conference and Marketplace represents a locally driven, highly collaborative approach to program development. As such, special attention will be placed on recruiting and organizing an effective planning team and establishing, maintaining and strengthening partnerships within the business community and organizations serving local businesses.
